The club would like to thank the many organisations and businesses as well as personal donors who have help the club over the past 4 years, these donations have enabled us to get where we are today.
RGB Building Supplies
RGB area locally based builders merchant with branches throughout Devon. They have supported the club since it was created and have sponsored the clubs annual regatta for the last three years. In the summer of 2010 the Chief Executive Kevin Fenlon and the Finance Director Paul Turner join club member for a row on an evening after work. Ilfracombe reputation for memorable weather saw bright sunshine and hailstone all in the same evening which according to Kevin only add to what was a memorable occasion.
John Fowler Holiday Parks
John Fowler has taken a great deal of personnel interest and support in the club as it has established itself since it was formed in 2007. John Fowler sponsors the Men’s current oars which has seen the Men’s A compete with the top crews and finished 12th in the 2011 Newquay County Championship and winner of group 3 in the World Championships in 2011. John Fowler Holiday has also contributed to the cost of the gig boats that the club owns.
North Devon Council and Ilfracombe Town Council
The support of the Councils has enabled the club to establish itself as one of the top club in Devon. The council have support the club in many ways from making a donation to the cost of the gigs and most recently sponsoring the trailer for the new gig Rogue. The club and council continue to work together to find a location for the a water sports centre which the gig club would be part of and this would house all the club’s gig boats. .
The club and the college are working together to give student the opportunity to row and this has already led to a number of student being able to included rowing toward their Sport GCSE. The club trains up at the college 4 night a week during the winter as part of the growing partnership between the club and the college.
Supplied the club trophies for our first regatta back in 2009. The most outstanding piece being a glass bowl engraved with the Ilfracombe coast line and pilot gig boats. The bowl is housed at the Ilfracombe Yacht club if would like to see it.
